General
1) All members of Adventure Colony will first and foremost use polite and respectful language.
2) In Adventure we have an open door policy. Adventure does not censor posting on the message boards. All message boards are free to be used as long as they follow the Cybertown Constitution, UBP and Colony Guidelines. All announcements, facts, advertisements can and will be allowed to be posted. We do ask that any posts outside the Adventure Colony not contain any links to job applications or have advertisements to anything outside of Cybertown.
Exceptions: There will be no personal attacks on individuals or groups. This means that if a message is found insulting, or attempts to diminish the reputation of any person, job, block, hood or Colony, the C-staff has the right to delete it immediately, following with a reason to why it was taken off the message board being privately sent to the person who posted it. If a fellow Adventurer cannot contact a member of C-staff to remove a message from the Colony board, all members of City Council and Cybertown Security have the ability to remove such postings.
3) The inbox to all feature is a great means of communication, inbox messages are for private communications and should not be "spammed" by frequent use. At the colony level the inbox to all feature should only be used upon approval of the Colony Leader, while at the hood level it's use should remain at the discretion of the Neighborhood Leader.
4) The message to all button should be used when advertising events, group communications such as promotions, meetings, or posting of positions with in the Colony, (ie: Neighborhood Leader or higher) from the Colony message board. Neighborhood Leaders may choose to use the message to all button in the same fashion that it is used from the Colony board and have much more lenience in this area.
5) Chain of command, for all ideas, inspirations, requests, proposals and complaints. It is recommended that you go to the proper source by following through first with your immediate supervisor. If this cannot be done, please take it to the next in command so that it can be dealt with accordingly.
Job Policies
1) There will be no screening of residents- any citizen may move to Adventure Colony based solely on the availability of "free" spaces with in any block or hood or their choice.
2) Security Checks will be done on Neighborhood Deputies, Neighborhood Leaders, Colony Deputies and the Colony Leaders. It although is highly recommended that security records be checked for Block Deputies and Block Leaders, it is not mandatory.
3) The C-Staff is responsible for the hiring and or release of employment of the Neighborhood Leaders and other Colony Deputies within Adventure Colony. It is required that all members of C-Staff and the Neighborhood Leaders fill out an application and have a formal interview by two members of C-staff. The position will then be proposed for vote through the C-staff. Once the position is filled, the person hired will be under a mandatory 90 day probationary period so that the C-staff can evaluate their progress.
4) Neighborhood Leaders are responsible for hiring their own staff. They may also delegate hiring duties to those with in the hood as long as they follow all Neighbor Hood Guidelines, Colony Guidelines, Cybertown Constitution and the UBP.
Other Neighborhood Leader Responsibilities are as follows:
1) Maintenance and organization of the Neighborhood, the Neighborhood Leaders have to be aware of their status as a link
between the colony and the neighborhood. These additions have been made to assure that decisions made within the neighborhood contribute to the well being of the Adventure Colony.
A) Opening of a block or blocks in a Neighborhood
B) Neighborhood Leaders are required to consult with their Companion Colony Deputy, before, the opening of any new blocks or changing of names of blocks. A block name should only be changed if it does not thrive and prosper, to make it more attractive. Blocks considered for closing, should not be closed until all avenues have been attempted to revive it. If closing the block is deemed necessary, by the neighborhood Leader and Companion Colony Deputy, all residents must be notified and given a reasonable amount of time to move along with the opening of an additional two spaces per active block so that they may relocate with in the hood.
C) Themes of blocks should fit with the Hood Theme, themes of "occult" are strictly prohibited.
D) Block Leaders, depending on staffing, can be assigned to more than one block, but it is encouraged to find staff to assist in all aspects.
Poaching
Adventure Colony strictly prohibits and discourages "poaching" as it is deemed unethical in fair gamesmanship. We define "poaching" as a deliberate attempt by approaching another fellow citizen with intent to lure, entice, reimburse for relocating, promises of more city cash, jobs, sponsorship or the like. This being done in any other way than in open chat with in the Adventure Colony, meaning by inbox, Cybertown instant message or message boards, either inter-colony or outside the colony, is and will be so forth held as a major violation of these Colony Guidelines. Punishment for such actions, can and will be voted on by the C-staff, and may include dismissal from a current position within the Colony.
Dismissal Policy
Immediate dismissal can occur if the preceding guidelines are violated, as well as the following:
1) The Cybertown Constitution is breached.
2) The use of illegal material or pornography is used.
3) Security is required to remove or exclude a member (ie: ban)
4) Harassment, in any way, to another Cybertown Citizen, through verbal, fanaticism, or threats to a person or security and the well being of Cybertown.
Warnings or other disciplinary measures may be taken if:
A) There is a failure to comply with required duties, meeting attendance or failure to follow the chain of command previously described in the communications section.
B) Obvious disrespect of another's Adventure and not following the vision of the colony.
C) Not being a willing party to a Team effort or atmosphere
D) Unwilling to keep up with the flow of information, accept change as needed.
Adventure Colony's One Job Policy
Adventure Colony will follow the One-job-policy that several other colonies have. This way there is a dedication, loyalty and the concentration on jobs with in the colony in order to better acheive the "Vision of Adventure".
There will be no employment of multiple nicknames owned by one person. It defeats the purpose and is to demanding and stressful for one person to actually acheive anything holding too many positions.
Additional nicknames are asked not to hold positions outside the colony. It is a conflict of intrest, and if found out the position held in Adventure will be immediately dismissed.
Along with the one job policy, if a leave of absence is asked for it will be granted. If noticed that someone on staff is getting "stressed" they may be put on a temporary leave by the Colony Leader if so voted by the C-staff. This is done to protect the person who is overwhelmed or becoming too involved with
the day to day life of Cybertown. Virtual Reality is just what it is, Virtual... it should not cause undue stress to a person in real life.
